At Essential Massage & Spa, we provide professional massage and facial services comparable to those you would receive at a high-end spa in a larger city, but with the hometown affordability (and personal care) that can truly make the difference between a good experience and a GREAT one. All spa services are made by reservation and are secured with a valid credit card or gift certificate. All Spa services require an intake form and completed waiver prior to receiving treatments. A deposit of 50% may be required on select spa treatments and group bookings. (your payment information will be concealed in an encrypted format which means that your information is confidential and safe)
In order to ensure that you obtain your desired appointments, we recommend scheduling your appointment as far in advance as possible to ensure availability.
Anyone under the age of 18 MUST have an adult with them in the treatment room for the duration of the session.
We value your time and that of our providers.
Plan to arrive at the Spa 15 minutes prior to your treatment time. New guests that have not filled out our electronic intake form prior to arrival, will need to fill it out onsite and should arrive 30 minutes prior to appointment time. Please give yourself ample time for check-in since wait times can vary, especially on the weekends. We understand that it can be difficult at times to arrive on time for appointments. Please call and let us know if you will be late. Checking-in or arriving late for your scheduled service will reduce the timeframe of your treatment. We will do our best to accommodate late arrivals. However, the length of service may be adjusted so as to not interrupt the scheduled appointments of other guests. Full price of scheduled services will apply, so please plan accordingly.

Upon your arrival, our friendly staff will welcome you, offer you a beverage and walk you to our relaxation area. Our Licensed Service Providers will begin your service with a consultation where we listen to you and come to understand your particular concerns. We'll review your information, including current conditions that might affect treatment or if there is a specific area or challenge upon which you'd like us to focus. During future visits, our Massage Therapist or Esthetician will ask about any changes, further tailoring your wellness journey here at Essential Massage & Spa.
Of course, beyond the check in policies we invite all our guests receiving services to make full use of our relaxing environment here at Essential Massage & Spa. Come early, stay late, bring a book, relax and enjoy a cup of complimentary tea, coffee, cocoa or hot cider available in our relaxation area. Your Rights and Responsibilities as a Spa Guest
To enjoy your spa experiences to the fullest and allow us to provide the highest level of client-care to you as our valued guest, the following are the rights and responsibilities of guests at Essential Massage & Spa.
AS A SPA GUEST, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO:
• Communicate your preferences, expectations and concerns
• Communicate complete and accurate health information and reasons for your visit
• Treat staff and other guests with courtesy and respect
• Adhere to the spa’s published policies and procedures
AS A SPA GUEST, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO:
• A clean, safe and comfortable environment
• Stop a treatment at any time, for any reason
• Be treated with consideration, dignity and respect
• Confidential treatment of your disclosed health information
• Trained staff who respectfully conduct treatments according to treatment protocols and the spa’s policies and procedures
• Ask questions about your spa experience
• Information regarding staff training, licensing and certification
Please Be Courteous: To preserve the Spa’s tranquil environment, we respectfully request that you leave all electronic devices turned off.
Food and Beverage: We are happy to provide complimentary coffee, tea and water. Additional beverages or food may be brought in for special occasions if the private event room is booked. Our event room is available for groups of four or more, please reserve your private room at the time of reservation.
Communication During a Massage: It is fine to carry on a conversation with your therapist during a massage, although most guests find that silence enhances the tranquility. Please give your therapist some feedback about the amount of pressure or areas of your body that need special attention.
Cancellation Policies and Fees:
Life happens and sometimes you won't be able to keep a scheduled appointment. We understand.
All will agree, time is our most valuable asset. Essential requires that appointments be guaranteed against late cancellation or rescheduling with a major credit card.
Your spa treatments are reserved especially for you. We value your time and your business and ask that you respect the spa's scheduling policies. Should you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us at least 2 hours in advance. Bookings of two or more services, including spa packages, couples massages and special events all need a minimum of 24 hours advance notice. This allows the spa enough time to fill appointments. Late cancellations will be charged 50% of services scheduled. “No-shows” will be charged 100% of services scheduled. The spa needs to pay its service providers even if a client is a “no-show”. This policy allows us to retain great employees.
When you schedule your appointment with us, you are agreeing to these policies. All services require a credit card or gift certificate to guarantee a reservation so please have your credit card and/or gift certificate ready when booking. Upon checkout, guests may choose their method of payment.

Prices and services are subject to change without notice. We will do our best to keep our clients up to date on any changes that may occur but encourage all clients to inquire about pricing and available services when booking your appointment.
Health Concerns/Pregnancy: Some spa services may not be suitable if you have health issues or if you are pregnant. Please consult your physician or discuss with our reservation staff or therapist.
Essential Massage & Spa is not responsible for loss of or damage to any personal items guests may bring to our facility, including valuables. We strongly recommend leaving valuables at home, and if you do bring them, you should keep them in your possession at all times.
Visitors & Children Policy
Visitors and family are welcome in our reception area. Children are not allowed unattended in any area of the spa. We understand that sometimes, you may need to bring your child with you to keep your appointment. If it is necessary to bring your child with you to your service, they will need to accompany you during any and all services. For the safety of your children and the comfort of other guests, unsafe activity & disruptive children and adults will be asked to leave the service areas with their parents until other arrangements can be made.
Children can receive spa services. If under the age of 18, they need to be accompanied by an adult.
Gift Certificates are available in any amount and may be purchased at Essential Massage & Spa, by phone at 641-664-1022 or online: www.essetialmassagespa.com
- Gift Certificates fully expire five years after the issue date and cannot be used after the five-year period has passed.
- Gift Certificates are redeemable towards the purchase of products or services from Essential Massage & Spa only and are subject to the reasonable availability of such products or services. (Advance reservations may be required).
- Gift Certificates are not redeemable for cash, cash refunds, or the purchase of other gift certificates.
- Gift certificates hold no cash value.
- Gift Certificate number must be given when making your appointment.
Series are not redeemable for cash, are nonrefundable, and non-transferable. Series must be used by the expiration date.
Spa specials cannot be used in combination with any other offer, promotions or third party gift certificates.

We value having you as a quest, but we do reserve the right to refuse service at any time, to anyone, for any reason.
We do not have designated parking, there is plenty of unmetered street parking in front of our building, there is also parking on the side street. Please give yourself ample time to find parking if you need to.
