Help Shape the Next Generation of Massage Therapists

Essential Massage Therapy Academy is seeking passionate, experienced Licensed Massage Therapists to join our instructional team. If you love sharing your knowledge, mentoring others, and helping students develop confidence and clinical excellence, we'd love to hear from you.

Our academy is committed to providing hands-on, real-world education that prepares graduates for successful careers in massage therapy.

• Part-Time
• Primarily evening hours (Tuesday–Thursday)
• Occasional weekend instruction 
• Flexible scheduling based on subject matter and availability

• Teach classroom and hands-on massage therapy curriculum.
• Demonstrate proper massage techniques, body mechanics, and professionalism.
• Supervise student hands-on practice and provide constructive feedback.
• Evaluate student competencies and assist with practical examinations.
• Foster a positive, respectful, and encouraging learning environment.
• Maintain accurate attendance and student records.
• Collaborate with the School Director and instructional team to ensure curriculum objectives are met.
• Serve as a professional mentor and role model for students.

• Current Iowa Massage Therapy License in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional massage therapy experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for education and mentoring future massage therapists.
• Professional appearance and commitment to high ethical standards.
• Previous teaching experience is welcomed but not required.

• Someone who is energetic and provides a sense of urgency while educating and motivating our guests about the benefits of our Wellness Program and to take part in it
• Someone who displays a high level of professionalism by seamlessly multi-tasking between greeting guests as they arrive, laundry, cleaning, restocking 
• Assist in making sure the front of the location and the front desk are always clean, free of clutter and presentable
• Assist the Spa Director of Guest Relations with marketing efforts

• Aid in filing, file maintenance, and organizing

• Providing outstanding customer service by greeting guests upon arrival, addressing questions and concerns, protecting guest confidentiality, and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for everyone in our location.
• Promoting the value of total body care by being educated on new and expanded services, spa wellness memberships and series, and encouraging home-care retail purchases based on service provider recommendations.

• Protecting our workplace culture by recognizing and supporting team goals and building positive relationships with team members.

Responsibilities:

• Combine your skills and techniques alongside the modalities we offer to give a customized service tailored to each guest.
• Perform and recommend series and wellness packages with consistency and compliance with brand standards
• Promote therapeutic benefits of regular massage therapy
• Build relationships with your clientele to help them meet their self-care goals
• Confidently, knowledgeably educate guests about services, products and programs
• Offering new services that you will be TRAINED in: Hot Stone Massage, Raindrop Therapy, Thai Herbal Compress

Qualifications:

• Hold current state license and liability insurance to practice massage therapy
• Capable of performing/learning deep pressure, Swedish and maternity massage modalities
• Be guest Service-oriented and communicate effectively with guests
• Availability to work certain nights and weekends (our busiest times)
